Florian Müller

Vertragslehrer for percussion instrumentsDepartment Brass, Wind & Percussion Studies
Since 1994 Florian Müller has held a teaching position for percussion at the Mozarteum University, where he has been a contract teacher since 2003, teaching IGP, school music and music and dance pedagogy. From 1995-2006 he was also employed as a teacher at the Musikum in Salzburg, and from 2001 also as subject group leader for percussion. He is a speaker for teacher training courses at the Pädagogische Hochschule in Salzburg, Lower Austria and at the all-Austrian Music NMS Conference. Since 2017 he has been chairman of the working group for equal opportunities issues at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.

Florian Müller studied at the Meistersinger Conservatory in Nuremberg with Hermann Schwander, Hans-Günter Brodmann, Roland Schmidt and Bill Molenhof. In 1993 he received the cultural advancement award from the city of Fürth. From 1989 to 1995 he was a teacher at the singing and music school in Fürth and from 1992 to 1995 he held a teaching position at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. 1989-1995 he was a member of the  Palindrome Dance Company NY and developed the programs "Dancing with the right side of the Brain" and "Rapid Human Traffic" with the choreographer Robert Wechler. Since 1999 he has been a member of the jury at state and national competitions. Prima la Musica throughout Austria. As an orchestral musician, he has performed with the Nünrberger Symphoniker, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. He has played solo concerts with various chamber orchestras and is also active as a drummer and percussionist in various jazz and rock ensembles. Müller gave numerous world premieres of new music and recorded CDs with the Salzburger Hofmusik and Blassticks Brassband, among others.
