Chungki Min

Since 2011, Chungki Min has been a lecturer at the University Mozarteum Salzburg, in parallel he regularly conducts concerts in South Korea and Europe. Out of his love for new music, he has already performed numerous works and premieres by contemporary composers. He has worked with the Munich Philharmonic, the Brucknerorchester Linz, the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, the Orquesta Filarmónica de la UNAM Mexico City and the oenm, among others, and was principal conductor of the Bucheon Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the Seoul Euharmonic Chamber Orchestra in South Korea. In 2007, he founded the ensemble MozArt Sinfonietta Salzburg, and in 2016 he took over the artistic direction of the Austro-Korean Philharmonic Orchestra.
 
Chungki Min was born in South Korea and received piano lessons from the age of four. At the age of twelve he won the Korean Minister of Education's First Prize in the Young Musician's Competition and began studying music theory and composition, which he continued with composition and conducting at Seoul Arts High School and Seoul National University. At the age of 20, he began working as a musical assistant at the Seoul Opera Houses. In 2002 he continued his conducting studies with Dennis Russell Davies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. In 2007 he completed his studies with distinction and received the Bernhard Paumgartner Medal from the International Mozarteum Foundation. He took part in master classes with Peter Gülke, Neil Thompson and Myung Whun Chung and assisted Edo de Waart, Dennis Russell Davies and Gustav Kuhn.
